On Grid System
An on-grid solar system, also known as a grid-tied or grid-connected system, is a solar power solution directly linked to the utility grid. It enables you to use solar energy during the day and automatically draw electricity from the grid at night or when your solar production isn’t sufficient. Any excess electricity generated by your solar panels is sent back to the grid, often providing you with credits through net metering programs. This setup not only saves money on your electricity bills but also makes sure that you’re never without power.
Benefits On Grid System
Solar Panels capture sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity.
- The inverter transforms the DC electricity into alternating current (AC), which powers your home or business.
- When your solar system generates more electricity than needed, the excess is sent back to the grid.
- utility grid. With net metering, you earn credits for this excess power.
which can offset the energy you use from the grid at night or during cloudy weather.
Safety Feature: During a power outage, the system shuts down to prevent electricity from flowing back to the grid, ensuring safety for utility workers. It reconnects when the grid is restored.
